Trimley Highlights - March 1st - 5th
On the 1st there were 550 Knot, 1 wintering Greenshank, an albino Lapwing and 50 Pink-footed Geese. A pair of Mediterranean Gulls were displaying on one of the tern rafts. Up to two Buzzards and a Peregrine Falcon have been showing well all week. A Great Northern Diver has been seen just off-shore. On the 4th there was a notable count of 97 Stock Doves (Paul Oldfield) and 24 Reed Buntings.
Otters at Trimley Wetland Reserve
Otters are being seen frequently now either on the reservoir or in the perimeter dyke. On Thursday 25th February one fortunate birder watched an otter in front of the summer flood hide eating an eel.
